A windmill harnesses the wind and converts the energy for use in other applications. In early windmill technology, the wind was used to grind grain and pump water. This technology evolved to generation of electricity in what we call wind turbines today. To generate electricity windmill turbines catch the wind's energy with their propeller-like blades that are mounted on a shaft to form a rotor. A combination of lift and drag causes the rotor to spin like a propeller, turning the shaft that spins a generator to make electricity. Wind turbines can be used as stand-alone applications, or they can be connected to a utility power grid or even combined with a photovoltaic (solar cell) system.
We can provide stand alone wind powered solutions and wind farm solutions; sales, service and installation for your wind power generation needs.
The first step in a wind project is to determine if there is enough wind at your location to make it feasible to implement a windmill. We sell and rent anemometers to determine if your area is suitable to generate electricity from wind. Let us help you with your wind power solution.
